Starlab CNC Plasma Table – Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures smooth motion, accurate cuts, and long component life. Follow the schedule below to keep your system in top condition.

Daily Maintenance

  • Wipe rails clean (top and bottom).

    • Use WD-40 as a cleaner.

    • Remove dust, soot, and slag buildup that can damage bearings.

Weekly Maintenance

  • Apply 1 pump of grease to the long-axis bearings.

    • Recommended grease: Mobile XHP 222.

Every 6 Months

  • Grease Z-axis ballscrew and twin bearings.

    • Recommended grease: Mobile XHP 222.

Additional Checks (Ongoing)

  • Look for loose pinion gears.

  • Clear debris from the gear rack.

  • Watch for soot buildup on rails.

  • Listen for unusual bearing sounds (grinding, squealing).

Why This Matters

Skipping maintenance can lead to premature wear, lost steps, inaccurate cuts, and costly downtime. A few minutes of preventative care each day saves hours of troubleshooting later.

Tip: Post a laminated copy of this schedule near the machine so operators can check tasks off as they go.
